To ensure accessibility in public buildings, it has been mandatory since January 1st, 2016 to equip them with a guide system for the blind in the form of tactile floor markings for visually impaired people.
The corresponding standards ÖNORM-B-1600 (barrier-free construction - planning principles) and ÖNORM V 2102-1 (tactile ground information (TBI) - technical aids for visually impaired and blind people) can be very complex. In cooperation with the Association of the Blind, which decides with the responsible authority on the selection of the zones that have to be equipped with tactile guidance systems for the blind, we have already implemented many standard-compliant projects. Thanks to this experience, we can assist you and advise you on the positioning of the guiding strips and the warning fields in your project. For example, it should be noted that stairs must have safety lines or that certain places in public buildings, such as secretariats or information points, must be accessible via floor indicators.
